Description
Background: MMRN2 encodes a protein belonging to the member of elastin microfibril interface-located (EMILIN) protein family. This family member is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein that can interfere with tumor angiogenesis and growth. It serves as a transforming growth factor beta antagonist and can interfere with the VEGF-A/VEGFR2 pathway. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 6.
Principle of the Assay: Human Multimerin-2 (MMRN2) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MMRN2 in samples. An antibody specific for MMRN2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MMRN2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human MMRN2 detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MMRN2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured
