Principle of the Assay: Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) induces proliferation and migration of vascular endothelial cells, and is essential forboth physiological and pathological angiogenesis. Disruption of this gene in mice resulted in abnormal embryonic blood vessel formation. This gene is upregulated in many known tumors and its expression is correlated with tumor stage and progression. Mouse VEGF ELISA Kit employs a double antibody sandwich method to quantitate Mouse VEGF in samples. Anantibody specific for Mouse VEGF has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells andany Mouse VEGF present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugatedantibody specific for Mouse VEGF is added to the wells. After washing, proprietary Streptavidin-HRP conjugates is added to thewells. Following a wash to remove any unbound streptavidin-enzyme reagent, adding HRP Substrate (TMB), TMB turns blueunder the catalysis of HRP, and turns yellow after adding stop solution. Measure the OD value with a microplate reader at 450nmwavelength. The VEGF concentration is proportional to the OD450 nm value
