Description
Principle of the Assay: Human Progesterone (PROG) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PROG in samples. An antibody specific for PROG has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any PROG present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human PROG detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PROG bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background/Introduction: Progesterone (Prog), a natural steroid hormone, is widely used in birth control pills and menopausal hormone replacement therapies. Phloroglucinol (SPF) and resveratrol (RSV) are also two kinds of active products that can be used during pregnancy
