Description
CD68 is a protein that is highly expressed by cells in the monocyte lineage, circulating macrophages, and tissue macrophages. It is also known as Scavenger Receptor Class D Member 1 (SCARD1) and is encoded by the CD68 gene in rabbits. There is no direct reference to the specific function of CD68 in rabbits. However, it can be hypothesized that CD68 (also known as macrophages) may be relevant to the immune system. It may have important biological functions beyond being a histochemical marker
