Actin, aortic smooth muscle, is encoded by the ACTA2 gene in rabbits. Actins are highly conserved proteins critical for various forms of cell motility and are found in all eukaryotic cells. In vertebrates, there are three main groups of actin isoforms: alpha, beta, and gamma. Alpha actins are primarily located in muscle tissues and are key components of the contractile apparatus.
