Microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP) facilitates the transport of triglycerides, cholesteryl esters, and phospholipids between phospholipid surfaces. In mice, MTP's functions are primarily linked to lipid metabolism and lipoprotein biosynthesis, encompassing the transport of triglycerides (TG) and phospholipids, as well as involvement in a variety of physiological and pathological processes.
