Complement component 2 (C2) is a serum glycoprotein that functions as part of the classical pathway of the complement system. When the body detects a foreign invader, the complement system is activated, and C2 plays a critical role in this process. Bovine Complement C2 is encoded by the C2 gene in cattle. Deficiency of C2 has been associated with certain autoimmune diseases. It is a member of the Complement system which is generated to regulate self protection from infection
