This Human Fibroblast Growth Factor Binding Protein 1 (FGFBP1) ELISA Kit is intended for quantitative detection of human FGFBP1 in cell culture supernates, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA). Strip well format. Reagents for up to 96 tests.
This human FGFBP1 ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for FGFBP1 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards (Expression system for standard: NSO, Immunogen sequence: K24-C234) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for FGFBP1 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the human FGFBP1 amount of sample captured in plate.

This gene encodes a secreted fibroblast growth factor carrier protein. The encoded protein plays a critical role in cell proliferation, differentiation and migration by binding to fibroblast growth factors and potentiating their biological effects on target cells. The encoded protein may also play a role in tumor growth as an angiogenic switch molecule, and expression of this gene has been associated with several types of cancer including pancreatic and colorectal adenocarcinoma. A pseudogene of this gene is also located on the short arm of chromosome 4
