Description
This Human Thrombospondin 2 ELISA Kit is intended for quantitative detection of human TSP2 in cell culture supernates, serum, plasma (heparin, EDTA) and human milk. Strip well format. Reagents for up to 96 tests.
This human TSP2 ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A polyclonal antibody from goat specific for TSP2 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards (NSO,G19-I1172) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for TSP2 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the human TSP2 amount of sample captured in plate.
The capture antibody is a polyclonal antibody from goat, the detection antibody is a biotinylated polyclonal antibody from goat. Expression system for standard: Thrombospondin-2 (TSP-2) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the THBS2 gene. And this gene is mapped to 6q27. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the thrombospondin family. It is a disulfide-linked homotrimeric glycoprotein that mediates cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions. This protein has been shown to function as a potent inhibitor of tumor growth and angiogenesis. Studies of the mouse counterpart suggest that this protein may modulate the cell surface properties of mesenchymal cells and be involved in cell adhesion and migration. TSP-2 has been shown to interact with MMP2
