Intended Uses: For the quantitative detection of Pig Peptide YY (PYY) concentration in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for PYY has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards or samples and a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PYY are pipetted into the wells. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between PYY (Standards or samples) and biotin-conjugated PYY with the pre-coated antibody specific for PYY. After washing, streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PYY bound in the initial step.
