Principle of the Assay: Disodium phenylphosphate is disintegrated by alkaline phosphatase and produced free phenol and phosphoric acid. Phenol reacts with 4-aminoantipyrine in alkaline solution. Potassium ferricyanide oxidizes to red quinonederivative. The enzyme activity can be measured according to the red shade
