Tears are a salty fluid made up of protein, released from the lacrimal gland. The tears then drain away from your eye, through tear ducts which empty into the nasal cavity. They serve to keep eyes moist and maintain proper vision. BioIVT collects tears from both normal human and clinical patient populations.
