Cell-based protein production systems are the most used systems to produce proteins. Creative Biostructure offers various MemPro™ cell-based expression systems for producing membrane proteins, which include microbial (bacteria and yeast), mammalian cells, insect cells, etc. Membrane proteins play critical roles in diverse life processes, majority of which are not elucidated functionally. With the MemPro™ protein production platform, Creative Biostructure is capable of expressing, isolating, purifying and crystallizing membrane proteins to facilitate the study of their biological functions. Misfolding, aggregation, inactivity, poor stability and solubility are the common difficulties encountered in membrane protein production. They can however be overcome by optimizing factors like host strains, growth conditions, co-expression of helper proteins and fusion tags, etc.
