With CFPS systems, direct monitoring of the synthesis process and addition of additives become possible. Due to the important functions in diverse critical biological processes, MPs have become the major pharmaceutical targets. CFPS provides an ideal environment to produce soluble and functional MPs efficiently: MPs are synthesized in the presence of chemical additives in a lipidic environment by using MemPro™ lipid-detergent systems, nanodiscs, liposomes and biological membranes.
