Description

Dorsomorphin dihydrochloride has been shown to act as a potent and selective inhibitor of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK; Ki = 109 nM), induced by AICAR and metformin. This compound is not thought to show significant activity on structurally related kinases such as: ZAPK, SYK, PKC?, PKA and JAK3. Furthermore, Dorsomorphin dihydrochloride has been shown to inhibit bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) type I receptors (ALK2, ALK3 and ALK6), and to promote cardiomyogenesis in mouse embryonic stem cells (ESCs) in vitro.
