InformationVecuronium Bromide (ORG NC45) is a non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent, used for skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery.In vitroVecuronium inhibits both forms of the muscle-type acetylcholine receptor with IC50 of 1-2 mM. Vecuronium combined with methylprednisolone shows additive effects on both receptor forms, which is best described by a two-site model, with each site independent. Vecuronium interferes with nicotinic processes in the carotid body and inhibits the chemoreceptor neural response to hypoxia.
