Description

Pinacidil is a K+ channel opener. Pinacidil is demonstrated to induce relaxation of serotonin-produced contractions in porcine and human arterial rings. This action is suppressed by the ATP-dependent K+ (KATP) channel blockers Glibenclamide and Tetrapentylammonium salts, suggesting that relaxations induced by Pinacidil are mediated by opening of KATP channels.A K+ channel activator; antihypertensiveApplicationUse pinacidil:Repolarization study by injection of left anterior descending branchInduction of ATP sensitive K + (KATP) currents in ventricular myocytes for electrophysiological examinationAs a KATP opener to treat cardiomyocytes
