A triterpenoid with diverse biological activities; inhibits the proliferation of Meth A and LLC1 cancer cells (IC50s = 3.4 and 12.5 µg/ml, respectively); reduces the viability of RAW 264.7 macrophages at 20 µM; inhibits fMLF- and cytochalasin B-induced superoxide generation in, and elastase release from, isolated human neutrophils (IC50s = 6.36 and 5.01 µg/ml); inhibits complement-dependent hemolysis of isolated sheep red blood cells (IC50 = 41.7 µM)
