A cephalosporin antibiotic; active against various Gram-positive (MICs = 0.2-8 µg/ml) and Gram-negative bacteria (MIC50s = 0.8-1.6 µg/ml); reduces the number of CFUs in vegetations and increases survival in a rabbit model of S. aureus-induced endocarditis
