Ranatuerin-8 is an antimicrobial peptide found in Rana catesbeiana (Lithobates catesbeianus, North American bull frog), and has antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacterium S.aureus (MIC=130 µM). It shows no detectable hemolytic activity towards human erythrocytes
