Ranatuerin-5 is an antimicrobial peptide found in Rana catesbeiana (Lithobates catesbeianus, North American bull frog), and has only very weak antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacterium S.aureus (MIC>200 µM). It shows no detectable hemolytic activity towards human erythrocytes
