CS-526 (AKU 517; R 105266) is a potent, competitive, and reversible acid pump antagonist (potassium-competitive acid blocker) that inhibits H+, K+-ATPase activity with IC50 of 61nM; inhibits gastric acid secretion in pylorus-ligated rats with ID50 of 0.7mg/kg (p. O.); inhibits histamine-stimulated gastric acid secretion in Heidenhain pouch dogs, inhibits acute gastric mucosal lesions and has potent antisecretory and antiulcer effects.
