Description
A triterpenoid with diverse biological activities; inhibits 5α-reductase and HMG-CoA reductase (IC50s = 10.6 and 9.5 µM, respectively); binds to the ligand-binding domain of the androgen receptor in a fluorescence polarization assay; suppresses osteoclastogenesis of RAW 264.7 cells at 12.5 µM; cytotoxic to K562 and PC3 cells (IC50s = 18.8 and 81.6 µM, respectively); reduces TPA-induced ear edema in mice (ID50 = 0.08 mg/ear)
