Thermorubin A is an antibiotic produced by Thermoactinomyces antibioticus TA/124. It has broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, but weaker effect on mycobacteria. Serum has the effect of reducing antibacterial activity. It has a protective effect on mice infected with Staphylococcus aureus by intraperitoneal administration
