Description
A metabolite of estrone; induces nuclear translocation of phosphorylated p53 and is protective against glutamate-induced oxidative death in HT22 cells at 5 µM; reduces kainic acid-induced hippocampal neurodegeneration and improves working memory in rats at 10 µg/animal; also inhibits proliferation of MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells (IC50s = 30 and 38 µM, respectively)
