An active component of the filipin complex; reduces growth of various fungi (MICs = 1-10 µg/ml); inhibits ADP-stimulated respiration in rat liver mitochondria at 3.5 mg/ml; induces hemolysis of liposomes in a cholesterol-independent manner (IC50 = 0.5 µg/ml)
