An inhibitor of steroidogenesis; decreases secretion of cortisol and 17-hydroxy progesterone from H295R cells at 50 µM; inhibits mitochondrial complex IV activity in H295R cells (IC50 = 58 µM); inhibits ACTH-induced steroid production and is cytotoxic to zona fasciculata and zona reticularis adrenal cortex cells in dogs at 60 mg/kg
