A PKC activator; selective for PKC over MLCK, PKA, and PKG at 300 µM; increases PKC-induced MLC phosphorylation in the presence of calcium at 200 µM; induces proliferation of quiescent primary neonatal mouse epidermal melanoblasts at 10 µM; reduces the motility of isolated intact chicken sperm from 2.5-20 µM
