A colchicine derivative that inhibits tubulin polymerization (IC50 = 2.1 µM) with low toxicity; suppresses microtubule dynamicity, inhibits cell migration, blocks microtubule assembly, and arrests cells in metaphase; used to synchronize cells and for karyotyping in cytogenetic studies
