Description
PDCD1LG2 (B7-DC, CD273), is part of the B7 family of proteins. PDCD1LG2 plays an important regulatory role during the immune response of the host to the pathogen. PDCD1LG2 is a marker of angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma and B-cell small lymphocytic lymphoma/chronic lymphocytic leukemia. HRV-16 infection or exposure to dsRNA induces epithelial PDCD1LG2. PDCD1LG2 functions as an inhibitor to T cell activation. PDCD1LG2 negatively regulates human T cell activation and therefore acts an a candidate protein for immunotherapeutic approaches aimed to attenuate pathological immune responses
