Description
SP140 nuclear body protein (SP140) is a component of the nuclear body that may be involved in trafficking between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. SP140 contains one HSR domain, one PHD-type zinc finger, a bromodomain and one SAND domain. The bromodomain functions as a "reader" of epigenetic histone marks and regulates chromatin structure and gene expression by linking associated proteins to the recognized acetylated nucleosomal targets. SP140 may be involved in the pathogenesis of acute promyelocytic leukemia and viral infection
