Description
Bcl-10 is an intracellular signaling protein identified from the t(1;14)(p22;q32) breakpoint in MALT lymphomas. The human Bcl10 gene encodes a protein of 233 amino acids containing an N-terminal caspase recruitment domain (CARD) that mediates self-oligomerization and the C-terminal region of Bcl-10. Bcl 10 is expressed ubiquitously with high expression levels in lymphoid tissues and in the developing central nerve system (4-6). Mutations have been found in cases of follicular lymphoma and diffuse large B cell lymphoma. Bcl-10 is a positive regulator of antigen-receptor induced NF-kB activation and Bcl-10-initiated activation of NF-kB can be inhibited by cotransfection of dominant-negative mutants of TRAF2, NIK, IKKa or IkBa (3-5, 8)
