Description
A-Kinase Anchor Protein 5 (AKAP5) is a member of the AKAP family. AKAP5 contains one AKAP domain and is predominantly expressed in the cerebral cortex. AKAP5 may anchor the PKA protein to cytoskeletal and/or organelle-associated proteins, targeting the signal carried by cAMP to specific intracellular effectors. AKAP5 association with to the β-2-adrenergic receptor (β2-AR) not only regulates β2-AR signaling pathway, but also the activation by PKA by switching off the β2-AR signaling cascade
