Description
Recombinant human FGF acidic / FGF1 protein with molecular weight 15.3kDa.
Fibroblast growth factor, acidic (FGFA) also know as Fibroblast growth factor 1 (FGF1) is expressed in the proliferative and hypertrophic zones of human cartilage. It is the prototype of the 22-member FGF family of proteins and has been implicated in a range of physiological processes, including development, wound healing and cardiovascular changes. The intracellular mammalian FGF1 was phosphorylated on a single phosphorylation site (ser130), and that phosphorylation occurred in the nucleus following activation and nuclear import of protein kinase C-delta (PRKCD). Phosphorylated FGF1 was then exported to the cytosol via exportin-1 (XPO1)
