Csf3 is apleiotropic cytokine best known for its specific effects on theproliferation, differentiation, and activation of hematopoietic cells of theneutrophilic and granulocyte lineage. Csf3 plays an important role in defenseagainst infection, in inflammation and repair, and in the maintenance ofsteady state hematopoiesis.
