Description
LAMP3 is a member of the LAMP family. LAMP1 and LAMP2 are located primarily in the lysosomal membrane and are rarely present on the surface of normal cells. They are the major carriers for poly-N- acetyllactosamines, including those with sialyl- Lex termini, which are critical ligands for the E- selectin present on endothelial cells and platelets. Cancer cells show increased levels of sialyl-Lex determinants and adhere to vascular endothelial cells through their interaction with E- selectin
