Description

Tissue factor is best known as the primary cellular initiator of blood coagulation. After vessel injury, the Tissue Factor : Factor VIIa complex activates the coagulation protease cascade, which leads to fibrin deposition and activation of platelets. In addition, aberrant Tissue Factor expression within the vasculature initiates lifethreatening thrombosis in various diseases, such as sepsis, atherosclerosis, and cancer. Our recombinant Tissue Factor comprises a 219 amino acid fragment (33-251) corresponding to the extracellular domain of Tissue Factor protein and is expressed in E. coli with an aminoterminal hexahistidine tag.
