Description
Bovine Factor X Purified has been purified from bovine plasma. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 20 mM Tris-HCl/0.1 M NaCl/1mM Benzamidine/pH 7.4, with a concentration of 1.7mg/ml and a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis (showing total reduction when incubated with 2-mercaptoethanol).
Factor X is an enzyme (specifically a serine protease) that is the first member of the coagulation cascade's common pathway/thrombin pathway. Factor X is activated into Factor Xa by Factor IX (with cofactor FVIII, as complex intrinsic Xase) and Factor VII (with cofactor FIII/Tissue Factor, as complex extrinsic Xase). Factor Xa is inactivated by protein Z-dependent protease inhibitor (ZPI)
