Description
Human Plasmin Purified has been activated from glu-Plasminogen using Urokinase (uPA) coupled resin. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 50mM Hepes/50mM Sodium Acetate/pH 8.5/50% Glycerol, with a concentration of 1mg/ml. Complete activation was observed by S-2251 chromogenic substrate.
Plasmin is activated from Plasminogen by various enzymes, including tPA, uPA, kallikrein, and Factor XII. Once activated, Plasmin is able to cleave fibrin, fibronectin, thrombospondin, von Willebrand factor, and more. This helps to break apart fibrin clots as part of fibrinolysis. Plasmin is inactivated by proteins that include alpha-2-macroglobulin and alpha-2-antiplasmin
