Description
Human Apolipoprotein E Purified has been purified from human plasma. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 20mM Tris, 150mM sodium chloride, 0.5mM EDTA and 0.02% sodium azide, pH7.4 with a purity of greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Apolipoprotein E (ApoE) is an apolipoprotein (protein that binds lipids to form lipoproteins) that interacts with Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor and allows for the normal processing of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. ApoE is primarly produced by the liver and macrophages, and helps to regulate cholesterol metabolism. ApoE functions as the primary carrier of cholesterol in the brain
