Canine Interleukin-8 (IL-8) Recombinant has been recombinantly produced in yeast and purified using ion-exchange chromatography. This is a lyophilized powder with a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
This product is endotoxin free, naturally folded, and post-translationally modified. This product can be used in cell culture, as an ELISA Standard for IL-8, and as a Western Blot control. Interleukin-8 (IL-8 or CXCL8) is secreted through a chain of biochemical reactions, and plays an important role in immune system response. IL-8 induces chemotaxis in cells like neutrophils, driving them to the site of an infection. Once they arrive, IL-8 stimulates phagocytosis.
