Description
Tie-1, as known as tyrosine kinase with immunoglobulin like and EGF like domains 1, is an angiopoitein receptor. It is expressed primarily on endothelial and hematopoietic progenitor cells and play critical roles in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and hematopoiesis. However it has also been shown to be expressed in immature hematopoietic cells and platelets. It upregulates the cell adhesion molecules(CAMs) VCAM-1, E-selectin, and ICAM-1 through a p38-dependent mechanism. Also, It has a proinflammatory effect and may play a role in the endothelial inflammatory diseases such as atherosclerosis. Recombinant human Tie-1, fused to hIgG-His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in HEK293 cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques
