Description
Native Human Thyroid Stimulating Hormone is a heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone, comprised of an alpha and beta chain. The alpha chain is shared by glycoprotein hormones: LH, FSH, HCG. TSH is produced by thyrotrope cells in the anterior pituitary gland which regulates the thyroid to produce thyroxine (T4) which is converted to triiodothyronine (T3) in the thyroid, liver and other organs to stimulate metabolism.
