Description
Nucleobindin-2 (NUCB-2) is an EF-hand calcium-binding protein. Nucleobindin-2 takes part in calcium homeostasis and is a multifunctional protein that interacts with Ca(2+) nucleic acids and various regulatory proteins in different signaling pathways. NUCB-2 is localized in neuronal perikarya and dendrites of mouse brain. Recombinant mouse NUCB-2 fused to the N-terminal His-tag produced in E. coli is a single, non- glycosylated polypeptide chain (amino acids 25-420) of 417 amino acids and a molecular mass of 49 kDa.
