ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human LIN-28

Description

LIN-28 plays an important role as a translational enhancer, leading specific mRNAs to polysomes and therefore increasing the competence of protein synthesis. LIN-28 is a marker of undifferentiated human embryonic stem cells and it enhances the efficiency of the formation of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from human fibroblasts. LIN-28 binds to the let-7 pre-miRNA and blocks production of the mature let-7 microRNA in mouse embryonic stem cells. Overexpression of LIN-28 is associated with human germ-cell tumors. Human recombinant LIN-28 produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain of 191 amino acids (42-209) and a molecular mass of 21.1 kDa. LIN-28 is expressed with a 23 amino acid His-tag fused at the N-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques
