Recombinant full-length human EZH1 was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag. The EZH1 gene accession number is BC015882.
EZH1 (enhancer of zeste homolog 1) belongs to the polycomb group (PcG) protein and acts as the catalytic subunit of the PRC2/EED-EZH1 complex, which methylates 'Lys-27' of histone H3, leading to transcriptional repression of target genes. EZH1 is ubiquitously expressed. Compared to PRC2-EZH2, PRC2-EZH1 exhibits low levels of histone methyltransferase (HKMT) activity.
