Description
Coronavirus 229E found in the early 1960s are thought to be responsible for 10-30% all common colds. It with another alpha coronavirus species HCoV NL63, along with beta coronavirus HKU1and OC43 are responsible for common cold.
Coronavirus 229E capsid (also called as nucleocapsid) has strong immunogenicity, reactive to its specific antibody produced by infected individuals. Recombinant 229E capsid has been used as a test agent to detect anti-coronavirus antibody in clinical study.
Recombinant coronavirus 229E capsid is expressed and purified from E Coli, it contains 359 amino acids derived from its nucleocapsid sequence, a C-terminal 6 x His tag is linked to this recombinant protein
