Description
Introduction: FGL1 belongs to the fibrinogen family. Fibrinogen Like 1 is homologous to the carboxy terminus of the fibrinogen beta- and gamma- subunits which comprises the 4 conserved cysteines of fibrinogens and fibrinogen related proteins. FGL1 lacks the platelet-binding site, cross-linking region and a thrombin-sensitive site which are necessary for fibrin clot formation. Fibrinogen takes part in the development of hepatocellular carcinomas.
