Description
Lassa fever is an acute viral hemorrhagic fever caused by the Lassa virus, the clinical symptoms are similar to Ebola clinical cases. Lassa virus is a member of the Arenaviridae virus family. Lassa fever is prevalent in the West African sub-region where about 3-5 million individuals are infected yearly.Lassa fever is known to be endemic in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria, and evidence of infection has been found in other neighbouring countries including Mali, Senegal and the Central African Republic. Recombinant lassa nucleoprotein is expressed with 420 amino acids in E Coli, it migrates at 45kDa on SDS-PAGE with a 6 x his tage at its C-terminus
