Product Characteristics: Plate 3*104 cell per well in 96-well plates in RPMI 1640 medium with 10%FBS for 24 h. Sub confluent cells were starved 4 h in RPMI 1640 medium with 2%FBS. Standard and Sample 2-human TNF- alpha were added and cell viability measured 24 h later by addition of CellTiter 96® AQueous Non-Radioactive Cell Proliferation Assay reagent (MTS). The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.02-0.08ng/ml.

Target Information: This gene encodes a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. This cytokine is mainly secreted by macrophages. It can bind to, and thus functions through its receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. This cytokine is involved in the regulation of a wide spectrum of biological processes including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation. This cytokine has been implicated in a variety of diseases, including autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
